Thanks for all your efforts at the club Micky

You weren't perfect (nobody is!) but overall you've been a really good manager for us, and a great character as well.

Most people with a brain accept you had to go to Sheff utd (miles bigger club, supported them etc)

All the best for the future and every success in all you do.

Thanks for the memories micky. I think you left a little premature, in fact what will the moaners moan about now.

Been happy with the last year of football then have you?

Anyway thanks a lot Micky been a very successful few years, but I think it was time for a change and you can leave with your head held high, best of luck for the future!

I would like to thank Micky Adams for what he did at Port Vale. Micky Adams dragged this side out of the gutter and made us into a side that other teams had to take seriously. During his spell i went to the games for fun, excitement, anticipation and hope rather than a sense of duty. During Micky's spell i made sure that i never missed a home game, i made sure that i renewed my season ticket and i also made sure that i packed my Vale top when ever i went on holiday to wear with pride.

I would also like that thank Micky for some great memories that i will never forget. Things that i can tell my grand children about. Things like starting the season in administration and endiing the season in a promotion place. Or smashing a rival playoff team 7-1. Or beating Sheffield United THEN Sheffiled Wednesday in the cup as a bottom tier side. Or when he managed the team where the local lad scored 4 past Rotherham in a 6 - 2 win. Or how about the last game of the 12/13 season where we got the equalizer against Northampton with just a few minutes to go. There were low times too though. How about when the team lacked effort in the eyes of the manager so he put the entire squad on the transfer list! I will never forget what he said when the interviewer asked if there were any offers on the table "No. Looks like we'll have to have a 2 for 1 sale".

Some loved him, some hated him and some loved to hate him. One thing we can all agree on however is that Port Vale is a better place for having Micky Adams as manager.

Theres Only One Micky Adams.

Thanks for everything ,Mickey. I do feel this the right thing as things are obviously not working now . We have the players to be higher than we are.

Onwards and upwards though the most important thing now is Who is next ? Not another internal appointment for the love of God,Norman

I think this thread is spot on.

Adams has transformed the Club and been at the helm through some unbelievably difficult times. He got the Club promoted and to a very creditable 9th position last season. He deserves our thanks and respects and I wish him a very warm farewell. I'm sure he will be fondly remembered for his time at Vale Park. Good luck in the future.
