Are people really getting in a tizz over a friendly result. Quite glad players aren't throwing themselves into risky tackles etc a week before the season starts. Pre-season is all about fitness, results are secondary.

REP it really hurts to say it but I think they have succeeded in the changeover from TP to football.

Exactly pre-season is predominantly about fitness and working on shape.

 

I'm sure Micky won't be happy being the perfectionist he is but some people really need to get a grip, jokers is kind as Memphis puts it!

 

Should we go 1-0 up against Walsall next week the overreaction will be we are going to win the league however if we go 1-0 down the utter hysteria will be that we don't need to play another single minute as we will be relegated to the PDSL Division 5!

 

Ever thought the shape they were working on was just what MA wanted to try as it was a pre season friendly.Maybe that they have found out that shape don't work and needs adjusting before the real season starts.If lessons have been learned from yesterday's game then as far as pre season friendlies are concerned then that is a result.

Nothing to worry about,I can remember us losing 1-0 to Biddulph Vics a few years ago and going on to finish 10th in the league.

I've seen quite a few people state we were unbeaten in pre-season in the 07-08 season before getting relegated. We didn't - we lost our final friendly. 1-0 at home to Shrewsbury Town. Dave Hibbert of all people scored the goal.

 

A couple of weeks later, and it was bye bye Akpo Sodje. :(

No and listening to a couple of their fans and McGarry on Radio Stoke yesterday they are destined for a top 10 finish and are winning both cups!
