better idea just play 5 a side just think of the money the chairman is saving still some players not signed deadline june the 2nd but its alright its reported they now have until next week . no new faces WE MIGHT WIN A 5 A SIDE with Neal pope Birchall Lines and Dickinson but if they get injured no medical staff we just might end up bottom of that as well Cannot sign any new players yet nobody to give them medicals

does this also underline that the Academy spend is rather futile and confirms that it was a good decision to do a u turn and spend the money elsewhere.

It's great in principle, but as soon as an academy player makes a first team appearance then other clubs/scouts are attracted and we just don't have the money to offer more lucrative contracts to keep these youngsters with a view to developing them further.

If you're going to develop young players you have to be clever with keeping them under contract.

 

We left Hugill on a dev squad contract for too long last season and we should have offered him something sooner.

 

Hugill also knows that he's behind Pope in the pecking order and the two are too similar to be a partnership together. Perhaps another club can offer him a more realistic chance of first team football.

I'm not an expert but I think a player needs to have been at your club for a certain amount of time to claim compensation

Either negotiated between the clubs or set at a tribunal (like the good old days) if an agreement can't be reached, in which case a panel will try to independently assess his value.

To be fair I hold nothing against Loft and JMW given their contribution over the last 2 seasons.

 

People like Knott and Hughill have just been greedy after a small amount of success which we have helped them achieve with their careers going nowhere. Stuff the pair of them.

Im dont want anyone at the club who doesnt want to be here so bye bye.

 

However, I am a little concerned about the number of goals going out of the team, Loft, JMW and Hugill have all scored goals at this level. In Micky we trust but with our defense we definately need goals in the team.
