There is a totally unacceptable level of personal abuse on this site against those who make a stand against racial or other prejudice. This is not banter or humour. If you dislike Evans actions, attack them by all means and give reasons for your attack, but do not abuse him on racial grounds.

 

How is calling him a tool, a criminal and a disgrace to his profession racist?

Steve Evans is doing something selfless by attracting all the abuse away from other areas of society. He's an abuse sponge. Bit like a stress ball but threatening and obese.

Substitute the word Scottish with any of the usual racially abusive words and its an offence... so why not?

Technically, it's xenophobic abuse, but still an offence, and rightly so, regardless of whether the victim is an unpleasant wand or not.

If referring to his nationality was meant to be an insult in some way then I agree with it being treated as an ofence; for me it's all about intent

If you remove the word Scottish the statement is abusive... I dont think the word Scottish, or the fact that he is Scottish, has any particular relevance in this context so it becomes part of the abuse...
