So this talk of Adams or Smurf is one post? You exacerbate situations that don't really exist by missing th point.

 

Let's get one thing clear:

 

Of all the criticism that Norman has drawn, nobody is calling for his head. I think we all acknowledge that he has no sinister motives and has been a great person to come in when it could have been much worse. He's made many mistakes and, more importantly - handled them, and continues to do so, very badly very publicly.

 

There are obvious problems between Adams and Smurthwaite. This isn't a problem so long as it stays private and professional. Sadly, this is anything but.

 

For the record, I've been very critical of Adams in the past but acknowledge the fantastic job he's doing and really want to see him remain and continue his good work with us. I also want Smurthwaite to remain but he really needs to seek help in running the club and realise that we will vocally support and praise the playing staff and management and the Chairman doesn't really apply to that. That's football. Let the pride of progress give you the admiration you seek. Publicly seeking it does not work. Not for a Chairman. Please step back.

Micky is being very bullish at the moment (for which I don't blame him) and is clearly contradicting Norman; anyone who still thinks there's not a problem between them is blind.

 

If this carries on I can see two clear divisions forming; Team Micky or Team Smurf?

The thing is though Spunkster - footy's very fluid. Adams was god when he first came, then he went and some didn't like it, some didn't like his return, I personally had no problem with his return but didn't like the nature of it.

 

Then when he stupidly got involved in the politics and begun taking swipes at the fans I was very much against him. Things have since moved on and he's done a great job and it's testament to him that he's turned fans back on his side with his actions. That's to be applauded, not vilified.

 

Let's hope Smurthwaite can emulate that.

Hate this talk of ADAMS or SMURF,we need both at the club and I hope it pans out that way.

 

Its not a question of one person or the other, it never has been. People compare what one has said as opposed to the other because they conflict.

Smurf say wildes was going to sack adams, adams says wildes offered him a contract that smurf reneged on.... smurf says he wont offer a contract then says one is on the table, adams says he hast seen one... its an important issue to supporters and its an extremely important issue to PVFC and people will comment on it and compare what each has said... I dont think anyone has suggested that one has to leave and one has to stay... most are basically saying... it doesnt add up... stop talking cack and get on with it.

Whatever anyone thinks of adams abilities it should be recognised that he is crucial to PVFC at this time, not simply for what he does but very possibly he holds the key to keeping several players who PVFC could not afford to lose and his "wow" factor for the fans. Smurf has to do that within budget because he says he wont be making any more directors loans next season, its a difficult situation which can possibly be remedied by improving the off field finances, sponsorship etc.

To put it succinctly [sorry] we may save on his salary but we could lose more in the long term... replacement, drop in attendances, drop in STs drop in the league, drop in shop sales etc etc etc....

I have publicly stated [well on here] that I think smurf has made some mistakes, bad decisions and not been honest in some of his public statements. That doesnt mean I want him gone... it simply means I want him to stop doing it... stop blabbing on about it and get the job done... rectify the mistakes, change the bad decisions [if possible] and make good ones... but first and foremost stay away from public speaking about PVFC confidential workings past, present and future... I just want him to do the job he says he can do... without him trying to do it in the public eye.

I aren't taking sides, I don't want either of them gone. We've had a fantastic season on the pitch which has been undermined, in my opinion, by some of Normans comments recently. I wont deny I aren't concerned with regards to certain issues, but I doubt you can find a post where I have said I wanted Norman to leave.

 

I didn't despise Adams, I wasn't a huge fan however. But, as I've said a number of times, he's proven me wrong this season and made me eat humble pie, which has delighted me. As usual you though, you make up your little stories and don't argue a point you believe in, just the opposite point to posters you don't like.
