From what I`ve heard AVB just isn`t respected or admired at all from within football circles,for the crime of never being a player of any regard whatsoever! He may have done well at Porto in a poor league,as a flat track bully. But apparently he barely played the game at all,not even at a lower level such as Wenger and when things start going wrong as recently at Spurs or earlier when he was at Chelsea,the modern day multi millionaire players simply snub him,right or wrong as a `manager` purely,likened to an office manager,rather than a football man and one of the boys

Will be interesting to see where his career goes from here,suspect he`ll just enjoy his £4.5m pay off and we`ll never hear from him again at any big level.

 

All probably true..except he did with the Europa League with Porto...that's really where his reputation comes from

Yes, but just think how stressful it really is working out how to spend/invest all those £millions--must be hellish to have to put up with that--but think I'd like a try!

Wouldn't say he had done that bad a job in someways but spending 110 million and then getting hammered twice by two of your rivals probably isn't good enough in the modern football culture. Too many of his signings have failed to deliver even going back to last season. Dempsey was disappointing for Spurs and also Dembele has been a shadow of the player he was for Fulham.

As Yukon says whether they are actually his buys is a another matter but the manager always seems to take the can nowadays!

 

Dembele and Dempsey were two of the better players , don't you watch football?

Daniel Levy has a lot to answer for,he keeps hiring these managers so you've got to question his judgement.

AVB now saying that of the signings made pre-season he didn't want 4 of them..according to TalkSport

 

Levy did OK in appointing Redknapp they just fell out or he didn't see him as the man for the future

 

But some pressure on him to get it right this time

 

 

Stress is relative..if you care about your job and getting it right you will feel stressed
