PL Manager Sacked

I feel for him a bit. Okay he spent a lot in the summer but there are rumblings that he didn't have complete control of the transfers. In addition, he had to sell one of the best players in the world- one that is fairly irreplaceable, as some one said on SSN this morning, Bale could change games on his own. The players that did come in have let him down, particularly Lamela who has been a shadow of his former self.

Wouldn't say he had done that bad a job in someways but spending 110 million and then getting hammered twice by two of your rivals probably isn't good enough in the modern football culture. Too many of his signings have failed to deliver even going back to last season. Dempsey was disappointing for Spurs and also Dembele has been a shadow of the player he was for Fulham.

As Yukon says whether they are actually his buys is a another matter but the manager always seems to take the can nowadays!

I think yesterday's game emphasised the importance of hanging on to 1 world class player instead of selling him and buying 7 good ones.

Liverpool could have made a fortune over the summer with Suarez and bought half a new team. They didn't, and his goals have made them title contenders.

Spurs, on the other hand, sold an irreplaceable player and expect 6/7 players, all who have come from foreign leagues, to instantly settle into the English game and English life. Soldado, for example, lost his unborn child recently.

A very harsh sacking, in my eyes. Given time to bed these new players in Spurs could have been a real force.

Exactly.

Post match yesterday AVB was asked if he had the squad he wanted and he dodged the question.

The Suarez analogy is a very good one and is right on the money. Certain players can not be replaced
