What makes you think relegation would alter the situation?

 

you are saying we can't even sustain ourselves in league 1 so it would only get worse in the Championship. I can only assume you think life would be better in league 2?

 

Same old you though, you only have anything to say if it is to put a negative slant on the club. Having a dig at 'general management' within the club implying they wouldn't be able to handle a promotion the the Championship is pretty low. Only you could find negatives with our great form over the past 2 seasons. Do us all a favour and take your negativity somewhere else.

 

One more question though, what are your thoughts on Micky Adams as a Manager now?

main aim this week, beat Salisbury and hope for a good draw main aim following week beat Stevenage to consolidate League One Status. Thereafter consolidate our position and stay in League 1 if we get a sniff of promotion then that is a bonus but not a priority this season IMHO.

right, so we would be unsustainable in the Championship given all the extra revenue that club would receive. Blimey we had better start losing some matches then. You should get on to Sheikh Monsour and tell him if he wants to generate a profit in football it is all about taking over clubs like Stevenage Town!

I think people are getting confused here between a "promotion push" and "promotion". In my mind, a promotion push could involve spending money we don't have, chasing the idea of Championship football. The danger, obviously, is that we miss out but are still left with the hefty wage bill that sends the club back back into administration. I'd certainly choose sustainability over this.

 

However, the idea of promotion with the current squad / wage structure, strengthening when (and only when) we can afford it is something you'd be stupid to turn down. The example of Yeovil has been pointed out and makes sense.

Its ok saying revenue increases but so do costs, there is no guarantee gates will increase drastically and if smurf is funding 50K a month on gates we have had how much would he have to fund a higher division?

The figures arent plucked out of thin air, smurfs figures, I suppose he could be lying though... although if the ticketing system is costing 8k a month [it doesnt bring extra revenue in] I wouldnt doubt the numbers, add on not selling the sponsorships, increased salaries, not much in the shop [from what Ive read] and everything else I couldnt say the management is even fair to average.

You fund a higher division accordingly with the extra income in finances. Work out extra revenue coming in, say 2 or 3 million, minus extra costs such as policing and an increase in squad wages. You then bring in players around what is left over on wages that fit in with this, and there you go, a sustainable club in a higher league. Not rocket science. Only a fool would want less revenue running through the club, ie you.

 

Micky Adams has worked wonders with a relatively low budget and i'm sure he will continue do do so. You still refuse to answer the question on him though. What are your thoughts on him over the last 2 seasons?
