Are we Lucky to have Micky?

In the light of what both Smurf says and what I am seeing on this forum I wonder what others think?

My own personal opinion is that though he can be a good motivator his tactical nous is very poor and at times his substitutions are quite frankly unbelievable.

Lets just have a squint at yesterday's events. I thought that his team selection was pretty good especially his decision to play JMW on the left. It all started to unravel when Jones came off injured. Why didn't he simply push Dickinson into his favoured left back position and put Duffy (who I don't rate I'm afraid) into the centre of defence. Instead he moved Yates over to the left and played Duffy on the right. Duffy is quite simply too slow to play at full back.

At half time he astounded many by moving Myrie who was having his best game of the season on his more natural left side, into the middle and then the 'master stroke' shortly after when he took Hughes off to replace him with Williamson who though he hit the post with a cracking effort generally offers very little in my opinion. I bet their boss Mr Jackett couldn't believe his luck!

I believe had Micky not fiddled with the team with the above changes that we would now have at least 1 if not 3 more points on the table.

Smurf says that we are lucky to have Micky, sometimes I wish 'that we weren't so lucky!!'

I will be interested to hear other posters views.

I agree with your points sage even though I am a mickey fan. The main question you have to ask though if you follow your thread is-should mickey be replaced who would come in given the image of racism and thuggery we currently seem to be projecting as a club. The constant criticism of the team from some fans cannot help either.

Crewe fans don't want Davis, can we do a swap

I think Adams will get time and for me I really hope he gets it right but I don't think he will buy into Smurfs promoting from the Youth/development squads which could be a problem in the future.

I like MA but I do think at some point if things don't change then Page will be our manager(having said that isn't Smurf friends with Megson or was that Wildes?)

How many times have we already said that Adams got it wrong. He is best when he doesn't have to make decisions. Being forced to pay a certain way last year was what got us promoted.

And i agree, Williamson just isn't good enough for this league. He's he hit the post, but rob Taylor has his moments too. I am genuinely confused as to what people see when he plays. He looks totally out of his depth.

MA galvanised the club during the dark times & deserves patience to find his best 11 & formation. Yes he gets things wrong but he also gets a damn site more right. I thing we'll have a good idea of what position we will finish after 12 games as be then all teams will have played a good range of teams in the league. Keep the faith.

He also walked out on the club during those dark-times.
