  1. Past hour
  2. Listened to this week round of player and manager interviews. Wish I hadn’t bothered really. But my one main takeaway from them was Garritty saying hopefully we can drag Cambridge down with us. Just shows what a <ovf censored> season it’s been when we’re outwardly expressing our desire to achieve relegating someone else.
  3. Bradford have been well funded and stuck in League 2 for a while. I suspect our funding will be on a par with most of the teams in the playoff positions. Bradford, Notts County, maybe MK Dons, Carlisle and Gillingham are the only clubs who will probably have bigger budgets. Clearly we aren't Wrexham or Stockport who could buy the league. We'll have a top 10 budget. A lot then depends on recruitment and luck with injuries.
  4. We said that last year DF was there last year thats the difference for me
  5. Match Previews The Valiants welcome Cambridge United to Vale Park in the last game of our 2023/24 campaign. View the full article
  6. From what Bowers has said on his twitter ages ago, the BBC don't hold the right to broadcast and EFL commentary online. Talksport have it, yet rarely do they actually do it. They have it just for the play offs so they can do full commentary on them.
  7. In the Championship this season there have been 20 managerial changes. The teams placed first to tenth are still with the same manager they started the season with. The other 14 clubs have done the 20 managerial changes. Birmingham changed manager when in sixth place and are now in the relegation zone. So much for new manager bounce eh? For the record Huddersfield were 21st when Darren Moore left and are now in 23rd place. Terriertalk is clinically braindead.
  8. I'm sure in one of Mike Baggaley's "Valiant" articles he said we had a mid-table League One budget this season. Every club in the league gets notified of the budgets of others clubs, just without the club names. If that was the case, DF has clearly completely and utterly squandered it.
  9. Today
  10. I took it as him saying they got the slow classroom sessions out of the way first
  11. I'm hopeful that appointing Darren Moore is signalling funding the team well in 2024/5. That is now to fight for promotion. I'm concerned PV doesn't become mired like Tranmere Rovers has as a club funded enough to stay clear of the bottom of L2 but with no prospects of getting back to L1 without new ownership.
  12. We won't be recruiting from the step 9 village leagues where they're all going so I'm not sure this is such a pressing issue.

  15. For the first time ever, I'm actually going to disagree with you. Going on from what Darren Moore said to the sponsors on Monday and his pre-match interview yesterday. I think that their is going to be some big changes to put this avoidable mess right. My guess is that the first thing that he will do, will be to release every single player out of contract. It's the easiest thing to sort out first to make some room. Plus, none of them have performed for us over the past 12/18 months. So, no bother at all in letting them go. I include the reserve keeper in that too because I'm not sure if it is a good thing to have someone on the bench that know's he's not going play and also think that affects the goalkeeper that is playing because he know's that he's got no competition. I also think that their maybe 1 or 2 surprises when it come's player's under contract. It's going to be a very interesting retain list next week.
  16. Spot on. I still think back fondly to players like David Healy and Chris Killen and earlier still Neville Southall who graced the Vale shirt on loan.
  17. I would agree with that. I have a feeling we'll lose at least one of Garrity and Chislett myself.
  18. He isn’t good enough for league 1 so can’t believe Stoke wanted him plus they could offer him 10 times more in wages no one would turn that down
  19. Anyone listened to Darren’s interview yesterday? (I wouldn’t recommend it) 15 minutes of my life I won’t get back. ‘Training sessions have been slow to get that disappointment out of them’. Jesus
  20. Which just shows how bad the rest of the team were...
