I know people say there is plenty of time to sign 2 or 3 central defenders, but we don't want a repeat of the Andreas Lippa, Lee Trundle saga, when we couldn't sign any more players once we signed Lippa.

Firstly, the vast majority of clubs haven't started building their squads yet. I can't believe people are panicking that we haven't got the squad sorted yet. I'd be more worried if we had rushed it to get it done for now.

Secondly, why on earth will that happen?

We were under V2001 by then and out of administration.

That was more so with our more recent administration.

I don't think transfer embargos are limited to clubs in admin.

I reckon Boom knows his limits and I reckon its a clever decision on his part to extend his career as long as possible.

 

I think that is exactly right. He is well worth a round of applause though if he appears again at Vale Park sometime in the future.
