Wildes in Sentinel

Recommended Posts

Good article, I like the bit about wanting 4 or 5 marquee signings and obviously every player can't be earning £5000 or £6000 a week. Compared to the last 13 Years, to even consider 1 earning that is like Christmas come early. Lol:

Another well reasoned and fantastic to hear(if you are a Valiant) article from the new owner. Seems we have given him and Smurf a smile on their faces and we now have to ensure we keep hold of these magicians. Every one who says they are Vale fans ought to try and give them what they now need, a resounding thanks and acceptance of the new season's prices. As many season tickets that can be bought are the least we can do to assist Wildes' hopes in bringing in several marquee signings to keep everyone assured that Vale are going places. What a fabulous transformation from last year! I certainly did not see, after 30 years plus of watching Vale, where we could get to in such a short period of proper, professional, well structured ownership. Dreams are usually shattered but what we are experiencing from these pair is truly mindboggling and believable. Good on yer Paul and Norman, it's a pleasure to be a small part of your vision for the Vale.:upthevale::D

PW clearly has sound business sense and I'm starting to trust his integrity.

He said, "We know it's going to be tough because we'll be going up against teams like Wolves who I think have a player budget of around £15m and are still receiving parachute payments."

That is very true, but back in the day we were up against Wolves with Sir Jack Hayward's money behind them and they struggled for years to make any success. MA has shown this season how you can make a small budget work hard for you if you find the right players, have a good dressing room spirit and keep them all fit.

We're not guaranteed a fast lane to the Championship but it is great to feel optimistic about the prospect, for the first time since JR left Vale Park.
