Atmosphere

Lots of excuses on this thread for the fans but the opening poster is right. We're at the top of the league, with a strong strong squad, good manager, everyone behind the owners/chairman, handful of exciting players and still there is moaning, negativity and little atmosphere at VP. Away games generally seem different, dont know why. The points about the Bycars being empty contibuting to a bad atmoshpere are 100% justified, most of the rest is waffle. We may have to face it - vale fans prefer quiet grumbling and moaning to positivie encouragement.

Cant see what anybody is moaning about, Micky has/is doing a fantastic job you aint gonna get through the whole season without losing a game or two

compared to where we were last year and the ten years before that this is fantastic and everybody should get behind Micky and the team, stop griping

Ive been fortunate in seeing quite a few promotions since The Gordon Lee days of 69/70 and this does compare to those times all I will say is just enjoy the experience and come and give the boys a shout at the away games starting with Oxford on sat

People are right about the atmosphere being better at away grounds its because of our numbers and being tightly packed in together to create a fantastic noise rather than being spread out in the wide expanse of Vale Park

Lets roar the lads onto victory tonight against Exeter and then lets see us build momentum in the next few weeks

The away grounds and VP WILL BE ROCKING!!!

As Supporters - (the clue is in the word support !!) we should get behind the team and do our bit

Its no use being anxious as this may spread to the players.

Micky said he is nice and calm.

LETS CHEER THE BOYS ON IN THE HOME MATCHES TO THE ALL IMPORTANT 3 POINTS WE NEED

Indeed, we are now entering a critical part of the season and we need to be both patient and fully behind the team throughout!!

That Plymouth side were excellent. They comprehensively played us off the park that day and were well worthy of promotion. It's a shame to see them where they are now, they still average around 6000 at home.

Remember this player? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Friio. He tore us apart, scoring one long range screamer if memory serves.

I also remember Andreas Lipa being a racist in that match!!

The atmosphere was poor from the start last night and has been noted on the Exeter fan's forum too.It reminded me of a pre season friendly at times:doh:Maybe we should all look at ourselves first before slagging off the team:yes:

I took my mate tonight who's a Forest fan. His first observation of the general experience was along the lines of "why the **** is everybody getting on the players backs at every slight mistake" He's got a point, the atmosphere is abysmal.

Nobody sings (with the exception of those at the end of the Railway) and the majority of the noise comes from people moaning or booing at the end of each half.

Lets do our bit for the club who are starting to do their bit for us, the fans! Who knows, the players might try a bit harder if it looked as though we cared about actually winning as opposed to coming for a good moan for 90 minutes.

You could see after 5 mins that they were strolling through our midfield, yet nothin was done as they scored twice. Nothing to get excited and sing about to be honest. The atmosphere was because people are nervous. We have thrown it away before and we are worried its happening again. They didn't have to make a save in the first half.

Its the teams job and the manager s job to give the crowd something to shout about...................It was obvious to everyone except Adams and Grewe that once gain we had sacrificed midfield to a very good Exeter side......Whats to shout about ?
