Sproson Statue.

I may have missed something here but so many people donated 100 pounds to have their name on the statue.

 

Ive not seen any engravings on there.

 

Anyone else do this or are the names somewhere i havent seen?

This was mentioned at the SC meeting last week. Pete Williams said the plaques are being made but they will not be put up until all of them are completed. He reckoned they would be in situ in 3 or 4 weeks if I remember correctly.

I wondered what was happening I emailed the Sproson fund address a few weeks ago and got no reply. TBH a bit shocked after all the delays the club caused everything from our side I thought was in order.

 

Very important to me as they are memorial plaques to my mum & dad both big Vale fans.

I have paid for my Plaques but haven't heard anything yet. I'm sure everything is in order.

If I remember right they said at the meeting that they would be made of the same stone as the plinth.Should look good when finished,looking forward to it.

100 quid is a lot of money with no update whatsoever.

I am told that the plaques are cut from waste stone as to purchase new tablets would be very expensive. So the delay is caused by waiting for off cuts. I personally have no problem with this but to be constantly told 2-3 weeks is both frustrating and sounds like a past chairman.

I was led to believe the names were going on the plinth... I'm sure they won't just be put on the wall as that would make them no more valuable than the brick scheme on the stand wall.

Dean I'm almost sure that I remember it being said that there was too many names to fit on the plinth itself.

I'm very disappointed I mailed the Sproson site when I last posted in Debruary but haven't received a reply. As far as I understood it the plaques were to go on the plinth it seems quite incredulous the delay caused by the old regime when in fact the plaques weren't done.

 

Who is actually controlling this ?

I paid the £100 myself but was quite happy just to donate.I declined the offer of a plaque but then I changed my mind.I emailed a couple of SC members but i'm not sure if I'm too late to get one now.I think there are too many to go on the plinth but I think the plaques will go on the wall behind.I may be wrong.

Now been posted on facebook that the names are going on the surrounding wall... I was always happy to give money to the statue cause but feel that I've been had. The sales pitch to me always made it seem that for my £100s It would be names on the plinth. I still would have helped or donated in other ways but would not have paid that kind of money for a name on the wall. Was anyone informed of the change in plan and I've just missed it?
