John Coleman

Get him in. Ok Accrington are doing quite well this season, but he doesn't sound like the happiest person in the world, naming the underpayment as the 'biggest kick in the teeth in his career'. He's a good manager, whos got his team higher than us in the league with only 1/3 of the wage budget. What do others think about him?

No brainer really but i cant see us being in the position to pay compensation to other clubs now when we wouldn't even do that when we had just pocketed a wad from the Blades.

i said before our previous managerial debacle that he was the man to lead us forward and my opinion of him hasnt changed. he has worked miracles with no budget and has got his players fighting for points ( even when not being paid !!!!). not only are accy doing well but they play football aswell.

Seriously, would seem ideal to get us to L1, then see what he can do.

jc applied for the vale position last time out and the vale board chose to not even speak to the man , PATHETIC IMO.

I wanted Coleman as soon as Adams left. I wanted him when Gannon walked. I still want him as our manager. He already has a family link with the club and is keen to come to Vale, as shown by him applying for the job twice already. Give me your car keys, Bill. I'll fetch him.

Digressing ever so slightly here ;) but it makes you wonder how different the world of football would be if players and managers simply started handing-in their notice in order to leave a club. Its been done a few times (Andy Webster?) but not on any large scale.

When the mighty Aldershot sacked their manager, no doubt meaning they had to pay him off, they went for an in work Dean Holdsworth who was doing rather well at Newport. No doubt they had to pay compensation for him as well. Now they weren't getting £100k from Sheffield Utd and survive on gates of 2500, so if they can do that why can't we?
