Flags of old

FRITTER

I remember that flag Fritter.

Good work.

For the uninitiated - Jimmy Greaves gave us hell after our return to League 1 (Championship), basically said we didn't deserve to be there. Fritter's flag was as a response to that.

Not 'The hardest thing Tottenham will have is finding the ground' jibe before we dumped them out of the cup?

Yes,i think it might have been the birmingham game.

I thought it must have been either that game or the Palace one a week or two before.

That John Rudge flag was quality. I think I might have it on video somewhere. It made it onto Central News once. I think it was in the post match pitch invasion for the last home game of 92/93 against Mansfield.

Or what should have been the last home game anyway.

I think the Rudge one was in the Lorne street.

Me and a mate were on the central highlights v stoke with a little flag. The commentators thought it was based on a stoke player, but it was actually of this Stoke fan that we worked with who we saw as a typical stokie..short black spikey hair, moustache and huge belly. He even saw it on the tv and said "was that me?"

There used to be a dead good massive one with the words 'The Cheese' written on the bottom corner (I don't know if that was the nickname of the person who made it).

On the day after the Autoglass Trophy final, when the open top bus parade was going on, I think it was hanging out of the building between the Queen's Theatre and the old Post Office.
