The issue is he isn't the same as Byers, Croasdale,  Garrity or Walters.  You want him on the ball in the opposition third. You look at the Gabriel signing and I think it's pretty certain he'll start with two high wingbacks. He'll then want 3 work horses in central midfield.  He's not really a centreforward,  so where does he fit in. 3 4 2 1 or 3 4 1 1 I can see him playing. We'll start the season 3 5 2, with Stockley and Tolaj.

I guess time will tell.  I have a feeling he'll be back at the vale personally and will certainly be a welcomed signing if it was too happen

    Nor was it a knock on Amos. Not sure if you noticed but we still need another goalkeeper. For me everywhere we have cover for already pretty much ( one more CB and a striker sure but there's player who can fill that role 

    However there's going to be some top  strikers in league 1 and competition is always healthy especially in the goalkeeping area 

    This wasn't a dig nor an issue. Just simply an reference to exciting signing we made back a few years ago and showed a statement that we were there too compete with the rest of them

    Having 2 proper  no.1 GK’s never work. It’s a waste of budget in my view.You will always have to get rid of one by the end of one season.

    When Alnwick and Neal were both fit one of them had to leave.

    We only signed Alnwick due to the season ending injury of Neal at the start of the season. It was a necessity rather than choice.

    Simple……find a number one and have Amos as the back up.

    gotta disagree with your first point sorry. I think competition is needed for the starting place. Especially if a goalkeeper gets complacent or gets a bad injury , then you're throwing in someone who's nowhere near that level and is gonna cost goals and lose confidence. 

    I'm not expecting vale to break the budget for a keeper but I'd rather much have two solid keepers in place wanting that number one jersey. 

    We've had some shocking back up keepers over the years and I'm sure a few years back we started the season with just one keeper with no zero back up to come on incase of injury
