Simple answer, hold 3 fingers up and they count 3, great, carry on... If they see more or less then remove them from the field of play until they've had a two minutes concussion test.... Bingo

What if they're from Biddulph?

And clearly Spunk Trumpet took the excellent advice offered to him last week and has got himself laid.

All sympathies to the victims...

There must have been 6 'head injury stoppages' today, none of which wanted any physio attention. If your team is under the cosh, all you need to do is challenge for a header, go down holding your head, and lie there, safe in the knowledge the game is about to stop, before miraculously recovering as soon as the physios are about to enter.

If you're holding your head, you need a concussion check. The sport has started to, rightly, take concussion seriously but now players are taking advantage. If the ref needs to stop the game, such is the seriousness of the blow to your head, then off you trot for a 30 second check before re-entering. It's become a free hit to stop play, disrupt momentum, with absolutely no punishment for exploiting it.

Totally agree with this and it’s getting on my nerves. What was poor by the ref when we did it on both occasions he effectively gave Salford a wide freekick to put a ball in the box which was nowhere near where the play was stopped or where the payer went down.

The head injury is being abused almost as much as goalkeeper injuries.

10 minutes gone Salford keeper goes down on haunches eventually holding his ankle then  the physio comes on and stretches out his knee while his teammates run over to the manager.

4 minutes injury time played 1st half for that injury.

It so blatant.

Another point on the officiating in general… the number of red cards dished out in the division is ridiculous.

The game is being ruined by players cheating and incompetent officials.

That was never a penalty, he went down because he didn't know what to do, Umolu was like a rabbit in the headlights, don't like digging individual players out but he's taken the crown off Loft, that's for sure.

Pathetic!

Just watched the highlights. How can the referee send off Curtis and not do likewise to their No 5 (who seemed to get away with just about everything all afternoon)?????

Did he say something completely? I’m mitigation, Curtis gets needlessly bundled over as the ref blows up, of course he’s going to react. Six of one and all that….

It’s either brain-dead refereeing - you can’t card one & not the other - or corrupt refereeing. We should absolutely appeal it.

8 red cards across 3 divisions.

Something is wrong with the spirit which the game is being played and the way laws are being interpreted and applied.

It’s not good for the game.

He dropped the ball so it was ideal for their guy to get a cross in, which he did. Utterly stupid. The standard of officiating is absolutely shocking, we got nothing today. That shove on John I think it was in the area in the first half was outrageous, literally in front of him and a two-handed push. Penalty all day long. Plus there was a big handball shout 2nd half. The officials definitely got it in for us. I literally can’t believe they had what, only 2 yellows, today?

That ‘injury’ the goalie had…he was down around 2 mins 15 secs. The second injury which I think did result in a sub was similar. And that your injury time before you add on the time for the guy rolling around about 1 min in who then got up to take the throw, then decided to throw it to someone else to take. Are officials really so stupid as to not recognise this still??

This is exactly how i saw the refs decision to red card Curtis, both players get punished or none,it was as pathetic as all the criticism towards Umolu, back the lad and he'll come good and he won a penalty the ref managed not to see.

On another note seeing on Facebook that the bloke who got kicked out first half jumped the barrier and tried starting on Boomer. I mean that’s a new one if that’s accurate.

Imagine coming home from that and trying to tell the missus why you're back so early from the footy.
