Not his best 12 months! However, let’s see his vale record at Christmas. Based on nothing more than blind optimism, I think he’ll have us top 7.

L2 is poor. We have players who can hold their own at this level and a couple who are better than that. Bring in 4 or 5 first 11 players then we will be up there.

The squad flaws are blinding obvious. Get them signed early and define how we want to play, I think we will do alright.

You won’t find too many managers out there with an overall 43% win ratio coming to the Vale. As I’ve already said in a previous post this next season is huge in the gaffers career. Looking forward to see who he brings in now

At clubs with money

There’s been a lot of managers who have struggled at West Brom & Doncaster in recent times regardless of if they’ve got money or not. Let’s hope he’s given the funds this season to push us on cus I get your point but as I said not everyone has done well at those clubs I’ve just mentioned before & after Moore was there. Manchester United are a fine example of a club with plenty of cash where managers have continuously failed one after another pretty much since Fergie left. Like yourself I haven’t been convinced by Moore so far at his time at Vale but with the club saying we will have a very competitive budget next season I do have some optimism, even more based on the fact he’s done well at clubs that have backed him as you say mate 👍🏻

Vale need to get better at getting more top priority target transfers "Over the line" with signatures on the dotted line, particularly strikers.  I suspect money will help a lot.  Saying the obvious but it is bleeding obvious.

Crosby had a better win ratio than 43% when he became permanent manager.

The biggest question about DM is how Carol thinks she will hold him to account for the team's performance.

Listening to their recent interview made me think that they still do not understand football nor what makes a successful club tick. We can see this in her handling of our previous managers and DOF. At the end, it was only when things reached the point of no return with Flitcroft that they did what they should have done months before. And the same with Crosby, who should have gone much earlier in the autumn, and previously with Askey, when fortunately we had DC to bail us out. It tells me that the club was seriously lacking any depth and expertise to provide independent advice and guidance in how and when to intervene.

So the biggest weakness in what we have seen so far is that we still seem to have little or no footballing nous or insight behind the scenes. It's alright saying the plan is to let DM and MH get on with their jobs but, in the absence of serious expertise on the Board to give our owners an objective assessment of the manager's performance and results on the pitch, who will she turn to for advice? How then will she hold DM to account? Who will advise her on when to step in? And more importantly, who will help her to develop a serious footballing strategy, a plan to implement it and the means to critically evaluate it?

Imho, we seriously need some football hardened Non-Execs on the Board who know a thing or two about footy or we may very well find ourselves in the same place yet again.

I wish them luck - we have a lot to thank them for.

He did, 53%.

Over 17 games. Give him 295 games as a manager & see if it’s anywhere near that. He won’t manage another game in his life at any decent level

Oh in his 22 game managerial career upto that date 👍🏻 great stat that is! Easy to say that when it’s only over a handful of games
