Any idea who it’s against? I was confused then as we’ve got Luton Tuesday evening 😂 guessing that will be a few trialists then & some of the younger lads possibly. I bet Gareth gets in 🤣

I think the opposition are The Dog & Duck pub side 🙈

There is a rumour going around, the Bulls Head could not make it. Like most of the players we are rumoured to be signing.

Moore's interview here where he talks about the triallists (about halfway through)

Pre-season games will be a lot more serious next week. Players will be doing a lot more technical and less physical work from now on. I'm old enough to not take pre-season results as indicators of much at all. Plenty of good seasons preceded by poor pre-season results and vice-versa. There was a point in the 80s when I hoped we'd have a poor pre-season as the season results almost seemed to be the inverse.

Modern football I think results are even less important.  All players cover 25% more metres per game than in the 70's and 80's. You aren't going to build that fitness in the regular season with the Saturday,  Tuesday grind. The preseason games are really just an add on to what gets done Monday to Friday.

The main thing we can take from these games as supporters is what shape the team will take over the coming season. By the final game at some point it will be pretty close to the 11 the manager wants to play in the first game. I assume we went 4 2 3 1 again yesterday looking at the team.

Moore had a massive job on his hands coming in after the window had shut, which was a crazy decision by the powers that be in the club.  The squad wasn’t fit for purpose and that’s not his fault either.  We just didn’t get any kind of new manager bounce, he didn’t appear to be able to lift the spirits of the players, who lacked any kind of belief, so it makes you wonder what his motivational skills are like when things go wrong, as they will.  We should note that Moore has a team of people so responsibility is on all of them not just the manager himself, although he has the power to appoint whoever he likes.

I do agree and I was hugely critical of Carol for that scenario, but she has addressed it this summer. Flitcroft paid the price with his job.

Moore needs to keep his end of the deal. Even the players who were poor in League 1 have strong track records as being effective league 2 players in many cases and he needs to get a tune out of them. There are not many players in the squad who have not played many games at football league level, which was not the case with many of our league 2 teams in the past.

He did a great job at Doncaster 🤔

There was a post on twitter/x last week ranking the league 2 managers. Darren Moore was 2nd and there was Doncaster and Huddersfield fans posting on it saying how is Moore 2nd he's a terrible manager. I have no idea why Doncaster fans don't like him but they clearly don't rate him as a manager.

Very weird. I’m sure if you ask the majority of Doncaster fans they’d be more than happy with his spell as their manager. Another reason why I don’t use twitter 😆

Someone on twatter actually told me I was attractive

DON'T believe everything you read or hear 🤣🤣🤣🤣

It's the nature of football supporters to have polar opposite views on any subject, particularly managers. That said, he's got some work to do this season to show us he's worthy of the ranking you mention...

Folks - anyone know whats happening with the 1876 Membership scheme...??  Personally, I'd prefer them to bring back the 10-ticket short season ticket option...

It will be on offer again at an increased cost( from memory it’s about £25)however it provides a discounted match day prices and 1 match day free ticket to be used against a handful of selected matches.

I can’t find the link but I remember reading it and thinking it was an absolute no brainer for anyone unable to commit to a season ticket.
