I thought I saw Ciaran Clark at the game tonight. 

Left footed defender. I agree with others, pace from wide may be where we are in need, so I'd be surprised if we are in for Clark.

Lowe did ok at RWB last season I don’t think he is the answer.

Just out of curiosity which games did he play at rwb last season? Not saying he didn't but I can't remember any.

I’m sure he’s been on trial with a league 2 club, might have been Walsall, can’t remember for certain. If he joins it would suggest jones is off (please) 

I can see Smith going and think this is best for both him and PVFC. He’s hardly played pre season and Moore claims he’s injured. Smith is rarely injured to his credit and coupled with the rumours of links to others clubs I can see this happening. 
 

Smith has never been great, was steady when first breaking through but had got progressively worse season after season and I am happy that we now have better centre halves than him in Heneghan, Hall and Debs. 
 

The most important piece of business would be if we are able to get rid of Grant and Jones two of the worst footballers I have had the unfortunate pleasure of seeing to play for PVFC. Utterly useless! 
 

On the plus side the squad is looking very strong if we are able to add another fullback and a right midfielder then I would be happy and feel we would be able to compete at the top this season and hopefully make up for the extremely poor decisions from the club for the last two years, get out of this god awful league and never return.

That’s what lots of mangers say before they go elsewhere. Claim they are carrying a knock. Lacavotti for example. I seem to recall him working on his fitness on his own away from the squad before he left soon after.

I don't think he did. He played a couple of times on the right of a back 3, as a right centrehalf.  I thought that was the only position he looked ok in. No way he can play central midfield anymore and I suspect his lack of mobility would be a real issue at rightback.

David Adewoju isn't a problem as he'd count as under 21. It's whether the manager thinks there's enough room to develop to be in the 22 next season.  Some of the bigger teams deliberately submit squad lists below the limits and have additional players. You can then add players at will, you can't remove from the 22 to create a space. They also submit squad lists at the last moment and don't include players who pick up injuries during August. I don't think we'll have a squad that big. We are allowed 22 over 21 players excluding keepers. I think we currently have 19 but I could have missed someone. We have Lomax, Dipepa,  Shorrock,  Plant and maybe Walters who can all do a job and need opportunities to develop. Possibly add Adewoju to that list. There was an issue last season with too many inexperienced players all playing together. That can go to far the other way with young players drifting as there are insufficient opportunities. IF the manager decides the 3 trialists are good enough for what he sees as their role in the squad I suspect that will be the end of recruitment for this window. It leaves a little bit of space to bring someone in if there is an injury early season.

Agreed , I think our remaining signings if any will be trialists. Our more significant business will hopefully be moving players on who failed us last season.

Portsmouth away where he played decent plus he had a few others around that time.

You’re right, it was more of a RCB he played. Where he did ok.  

Seems slightly odd that none of the trialists haven’t been involved in the last couple of proper friendlies. Particularly last night when the bench was pretty threadbare.
