I can't understand the decision to enter into discussions with Uche about signing a new contract. To win football matches you need to put the ball in the opposition team's net. We already have one striker under contract, Loft, who has demonstrated that he has very limited ability to do that so why should we sign somebody who is equally, if not more so, inept at doing that. Assuming we end up with 4 strikers signed on why would you want half of them to be lacking in the fundamental skill needed to play in that position. We may be stuck with Loft due to him being signed and we also have the promising Dipepa. But surely it would be better to go after players that have demonstrated that they know how to score goals. We need two new players to play up front. Replacements for Uche and Wilson.

If an extension is in his contract we have to make an offer, whether he accepts is a different matter as has happened with other players in the past. Wait and see?

I’d always be more interested in the stuff they leave out of these videos to be blunt and I know what I’ve seen this season.  All the young lads are the same in that regard, and that’s not me being negative, it’s a simple fact of life, they’re not physically mature enough to be expected to hold their own for 90 minutes, or whatever, week in week out.

For the lads we manage to retain, it’ll be interesting to see how they fair next season, coming back a bit older and wiser after a break to re-charge in the summer.

This hotel notion would never work. I stay in hotels all the time on business all over the country so who woukd stay in this hotel? Businessmen during the week? (Hardly any big businesses in the area) and the ones  that do visit SOT on business will go to the 2 Hanley hotels. The weekend market? Weekenders visiting Burslem like  Edinburgh or York? Doubt it. The Asylum seekers market might work, but the George hotel has that market wrapped up. A hotel in Burslem wouldn’t work in my opinion

I mentioned him the other day,scores goals at league 2 level and is an handful for defences....I would take him over Uche no messing

I cant believe some really do think that those still here at the moment are the ones we start with in August,i will state now that a fair few will be leaving.

As someone else said if Uche has an option of another year(thanks to DF) then we have to go the right way about it. I am hoping some of these talks include with Garrity to extend his contract by another 2yrs

If Garrity stays I would be amazed. 

 

Wilson should never have been re-signed in the first place. It was pure desperation stuff.

Also glad to see the back of Massey. He offers next to nothing and was a massive dissapointment.

Matty Stevens released by FGR,I didn't realise he was only 26,he had a good scoring record there

Also a player who has been mentioned on here experienced RB Dabo is also being released
