I had forgotten about Cass...a right back.... we could have done with one of those on Tuesday night! 

The more you think about it, the more bizarre our player recruitment gets.  Its almost as if some has just decided we will play 3 at the back for ever, regardless of what the opposition do, how we are playing and what the game situation is.

I am no footballing tactical genius, but I played enough to know that when you are struggling as a side and expect to play large parts of the game in your own half, then go with a 4-4-2 formation.  With 2 banks of 4 there is less to think about positionally for players who are lacking in confidence, or don't know each other that well. It's easier for players to support each other and you are much harder to break down.

Lofts getting a lot of stick for missing that.  But we were still 2-0 up then and should have seen it out. Had we won no one would be bringing this miss up. But we didn’t so it must be Lofts fault.

Really was a potential sliding doors moment the miss. Loft scores, gets swamped by his teammates infront of the Hamil giving him a huge boost in confidence & removing the monkey off his back. Name gets chanted from the stands, he breaks into a smile. We win the game & stop up relatively comfortably with Loft bagging a few more before the season is out.

It was a massive miss in the context of our season.

The first part is but he should take it central and cut across the defender. The defender is still behind him at this point, so he’s either through in a central position, or the defender takes him out and we get a pen/red card/both.

Yeah criminal to continue straight or slightly left unless your a confident striker who can use both feet which he isn’t. The crowd went mental when he was played through & he just completely panics & froze. I do feel for him because his effort has been good for the majority & I really want him to score a bloody goal & believe most vale fans feel the same

We said early in the second half the next goal is crucial, with how fragile our confidence is if they score we might crumble but 3-0  up they probably would have not got the fight to comeback, so it was a really important miss he’s just not good enough 💩

If Mighten had passed it centrally in front of him he'd have had much more time. However I was never convinced he was going to score...
