January Transfers and Rumours

Manip is leaving. They need 4 centre halves. They'll have 3.

And?

Do you genuinely believe that a top 4 premiership side, a club with aspirations to be one of the best and biggest in the world, would give one of their 4 CB positions to a player on the basis of him playing well in league one for 4 months?

They might also take into account how he has played, previously, in the Prem and Champions' Leagues? Certainly be a squad player if he rediscovers his form?

I almost said "finally, a loan that everyone will get behind"! - I should have known better, really?

If you can’t see the reason why some would be concerned then there really is no hope.

We have been here before with loan/or our own players and they come with a track record of picking up niggles.  So can understand the comments will he play more than being in the med room.

Just needs to prove these niggles are behind in and he produces on the pitch.  Does that he will get the fans behind him.

A loan player that everyone will get behind - or is it a loan players/our players can get behind him in the queue to see the med staff and physios.  🤣

He's played 9 games for the Liverpool first team including 5 in the PL. He's capped at England U18, U19 and U21 levels.

One of the reasons I'm of this opinion is the Financial Fair Play Rules. All the top clubs are going to be severely restricted by these. Arsenal can't afford a striker for example. Liverpool clearly need new cover at fullback and are second favourites to sign Mbappe from PSG behind Real Madrid. They could do with not having to spend £50 million on a new centre half. But we are 100% sure they need a new centre half at the end of the season.

Well Warren, The Anfield Index article thinks we are the business, I hope they are not disappointed.

Think it's a good signing personally. We at least knew Balmer wasn't good enough - he's got a chance to be better or worse.

With all due respect, the club know exactly what they are getting involved with when they do these loan deals

Let's hope he is worth £5M by the end of April, and we are in the top half of L1.

With all due respect we are agreeing a season long loan only for them to change their mind half way through

Yes, I agree. I know he isn’t our player but it seems a season long loan is a pretty meaningless term.

Anybody else getting flashbacks to the "Bruno Season"?

It would be part of any contract that they can recall him in January.

They have not changed their mind, it would be in the T & C's of the contract
