Agreed. You do wonder if it was a Norman Smurfwaite or Bill Bratt if we would be so tolerant to the obvious cheapo approach to building a squad around loans, no matter how good. 
 

It doesn’t really do anything for the club except maybe help us build financially by staying in league 1 and saving money through surviving on loans for our star players.

I would say 75% of teams in both League One & Two would say the same thing

Plymouth seemed to have used the loan market to great effect! So why can’t we? Some of the championship clubs do the same. Anyway thanks Alfie you did us proud all the best in your future development, would have liked you to stay for the rest of the season, but clearly Spurs think differently.

A lot cheaper than buying a player and committing to their wages for 2 years or so, yes. 
 

 

 

Playing a 5-2-2-1 formation, we're still left with Ojo, Weir and Sang for those two deeper midfield places. Garrity can play there also and then there's Walters who will need to play games sooner or later if he's to really improve. People need to relax.

Devine was a talent but ultimately got one assist in the league and two goals, one being a penalty. They're not impossible stats to replace.

It depends, some of these young premiership players are on much more than most league 1 players are on. It would depend how much of their salary you have to contribute. The other side of the coin is that you pay a fee for someone such as Loft on 3K ( reputably } per week and you are stuck with him for two years,

Isn't he that actor from 50 shades of grey😉

The 2 latest loans seem to indicate that we have been  working in the background to identify replacements just in case they went back to their parent club. Hopefully we have someone lined up to replace Devine.

I’d be stunned if we did get him. Think he’s been making their bench. Think there’s been talk they might loan out Soonsup-Bell so maybe that might be on if we were interested of course?

 Plymouth had just lost a loan player who plays in midfield too who went back to his parent club and then was farmed back out to Stoke. Maybe they’ve identified Devine as his replacement.
