Anyone know what happened in Aberdeen and why he didn't play? Surely he'd be expected to start most games?

There's this report here. I know it's just a rumour at the moment, but it would be a bit worrying if signed given that injury record during the first half of the season...

Overall I think he will be OK, especially since he has already played with Devine but he needs to adapt to mens football which is a different mix of technical ability and bloody mindedness.

He's already played a fair bit of men's football, don't forget.

Sounds like he’d fit right in.

If Kofi goes back good luck to him. You can see he has the attributes to be a pretty decent defender but needs to cut out the mental errors. That certainly won’t cut it at this level never mind the PL.

With his niggles record in the report he will be coming to Vale Park shortly and reporting direct to the med staff after going onto the pitch for his arrival photograph.  🤣

If he does come, hopefully all his niggles are behind him and he can show his skills on our great pitch.  Sounds like the type of player AC would like in the squad.

Can I emphasise that I know nothing (ask Mrs Osh - she'll confirm that!!🤣) It's just a WA message I got today; the guy who sent it has been involved in Vale for over 50yrs and someone I 100% trust.

This looks a good signing to me if true. He's big and likely very skilfull at L1 level. He would only come to play and not mess around on the bench. Get Jesse Debrah fit and the back three starts to look big and able to play footie. 

This concept of being able to give a player / parent club assurance they'll play regularly is an advantage PV has in the transfer market. It's a way to close the gap in the transfer market on bigger clubs like Derby who wouldn't provide that assurance. But it's slightly a double edged sword if we take on loan players who aren't ready for L1 level like Kofi Balmer.

On the injury / recovery front, PV is much closer to Liverpool than Aberdeen. It should be easier to have a managed fitness programme using the resources of a Premier League club close at hand. 

Have we actually got anyone that isn't on loan this January?

No one can blame you if it doesn't happen as people get told stuff and for different reasons they dont come off but it doesn't mean the interest or an offer isn't there
