January Transfers and Rumours

Mullin is on £8k per week at Wrexham. Well he was, that may have increased with his contract extension yesterday.

Mullin is a top top striker on that much each week.

What kind of striker could we have got with a combination of Uche & Lofts wages?

One that scores goals or even a goal would be an imporovement

Just to add to the names i put on here,i wasn't saying we should be signing them but yes i was saying they are in current form in league 2.

What i do find a little odd is people saying they are no better than league 2 or they doubt they can do it at our level or not proven at our level(i agree there) yet we were told by many that Garrity wouldn't even be a footballer and now we are talking of him being worth 750k or so. So all i am saying is who knows what a player is like until he plays for us,so i wont write anyone off and i would sooner us to try and sign players who are in current form no matter where they are from.... only my opinion though

Depends on the finances.at the club, playa

Then we're done. If my ageing memory serves me correctly, I recall last January DC said we'd had a poor window and Carol said it was a good 'un: one from a footballing perspective and one from a finance point of view. We, as fans, then suffered on the rack for the rest of the season.

Maybe I'm wrong but January doesn't ever seem like a good time of the year for us as far as signings go.

You would hope they could look at Vale and think - that's a club that looks after the loanees and helps them off the field to settle in.  Carol has tried to bring that credibility into the club over the years.

I thought that was DF that was doing that...??

Carol started it with examples of looking after loanees.  Example was the lad who had his car vandalised and she got a hire car there quickly for him to use.  There were other examples publicised, then DF took over the football role and examples seemed to stop being publicised or the senile stopped printing the stories as it didn't meet their guidelines - ie not sjoke related.

Vale must be getting a good reputation within the higher leagues as Sproson keeps harping on about it every now and then when the transfer window is close to starting.

We need a centre back that's dominant and good in the air similar to what Leon legge was. We need a left wing back and a striker who can chip in with a few goals and actually control the ball and stay fit the majority of the season.

January is notorious for panic buys.

Hopefully we are more considered as we were with Connor Hall rather than reactionary with Matty Taylor.

I have absolutely no faith in Crosby/Flitcroft to get it right. I wouldn't trust them to put a Kinder Egg toy together successfully. I really hope they do though as we're desperate for quality at both ends of the pitch.

I would also add a RWB to the wish list. With Sang and Mitch injured relying on Massey and a kid is not ideal.

When Sang is fit I still think he would be better in CM.

All I want is a bit of pace. It is so much harder to cope when teams are putting you under pressure if you don't have someone who can push the opposition defence back, carry the ball and get up quickly to support the striker. The few players we have with any pace have all got knocks probably because they are so few and far between in our squad.

Exeter have indicated that they will be quite busy in this window. I would like to think we could get in a few bodies but I am not hopeful, maybe a decent loan or two at best. Hope we hold on to our best players, this window can send out a very clear message selling one of your best players is not a message to send out.

Burnley have recalled a lad from Barnsley who plays LB/LWB due to lack of game time.

You would hope that we are in the market for a LB/LWB given that Shorrock is a kid and Grant has been a real let down.
