Excuse my ignorance and stupid question but I assume the Jan window opens on 1st and closes the 31st .

Presumably tonight is Wilsons last game unless we offer a new deal.

That's my understanding. Unless we offer a deal that is accepted, Wilson could be leaving after tonight.

Having sat in front of the Devine family on Boxing Day, who weren't best impressed and not shy of letting folk know, I think there's a decent chance he is recalled next month.

What were they not impressed with?

The pies. Bring back Wrights was the chant.

It’s bad enough watching your kids playing amateur football and trying to get involved by saying stuff to fans / other parents being negative at that level. Cant imagine it’s worth having a pop at fans around you in a crowd of thousands at a professional game.

Just the overall standard of performance, considering the fact that "Alfie's at Spurs".

There’s a lot worse places for a young lad to go out on loan.

I actually felt that is how he originally played when joining us too, that he felt he was too good to be at our club or level - what do parents expect when the kids are in a huge setup like spurs. Dropping down to clubs like ours allows them to become accustomed to toughness of mens football rather than the u12/u23 setups. He has started to shine through a little more but I think he still has more to offer. When the chips are down, that is when the character of the player should shine through to see what they're really made of.

Interestingly, one of our best performances of the season was the Cup replay at Burton when neither Ollie nor Alfie played because they were in international duty.

On the upside atleast it's a clinical decision at the start of the transfer window.

Now let's wait and see whether having a really successful loan spell and having developed a player helps us land another top talent on loan. Well that's the theory anyway.

Spot on. But without Ojo and Sang currently we're looking a lot worse off than that night.

We’ve gone from having a really strong midfield to who the hell do we play there?!

Thanks for everything Ollie, I will be watching out for your career and you will always be welcome at Vale.

Got to hope Devine can dig in and do that job now. Based on his excellent display 2nd half on Boxing Day he can! My only issue is he can drift in and out of games a little.

He needs an Ojo alongside him… let’s hope he comes back soon. Losing our two best players has shown how poor the rest of them are.

Walters is a good prospect but nowhere near the standard yet. Sign that contract so we can loan you out to Chesterfield or someone of that ilk.

I would love to see Sang play in the middle, and Grant! I think they’d both be suited there. Let’s have some proper wingbacks in and hope Mitch recovers soon so we can make it a reality

This is what worries me. We have a poor strike force and a weak defence. What has kept us looking reasonable at times is the midfield which I felt is one of the better in the league. Without that, then it’s a worry.

It depends on the contact he could be contacted to31st , but he can move from 1st onwards if not offered a deal . More pressure on Dave F .
