It all looks a bit dubious, begging around, seeing if we can scrounge any young prospect at a big club needing a game. "Begging around" and "scrounge" are as far away as they can be from what's really happening here - we are identifying young and gifted talent from elite clubs, and persuading them that these players can get a good grounding with us. None of this is done by happenstance...nor with a begging bowl! As you may have read, Man United "scouted us" for a while, to make sure we were the real deal for them. That, alone, is a feather in our cap - to establish that kind of trust with clubs like Liverpool and Man IU. We often hear "why can they loan players from top clubs, but we can't?" - it's because we've never put in the groundwork that has to be done, and not, since the days of Rudgie, had many managers with the chutzpah to ask Man Utd for one of their players, on loan?

Yes - I get we're still 18th in the League...and some of us think we're one game from the drop...but we haven't played many matches, recently, for various reasons out of our control, which has left us with up to 3 games in hand, and a single win could move us up 4 or 5 ;places. Take a look upwards, for a change, instead of permanently fearing the drop? It's not scary!

As an auditor, investigator and risk manager - in my career - I find and bring the facts forward to decision makers. That's it. I don't care, for example, if a person stole money to fund an affair with a secret lover. They just broke the law.

I might mention in a report they told me that was their motivation for committing the offence / crime. But it won't alter the core findings, conclusions and recommendations arising from the investigation I put in the report. 

I appreciate you want to bring sympathy, empathy and support etc. So the offending person here - Toney - does have issues that need treatment and support. But for the investigator that's something that comes after the case has been proven and carried out by someone else competent to help.

Think its funny reading some of the strange comments that aren't transfer/loan related this week due to no actual rumours coming out about Vale being connected to transfers/loans now Dan Gore has been put to bed and we have him now - well till the end of the season. 

Wonder what the next topic this thread will go down.  Will someone take the plunge and come up with swimming connections  🤣

It'll be interesting next summer if our success giving young loan signings a platform, has any clout with signing young permanent signings.

Could slowly start cultivating a reputation for it which would be nice.

On another note I think Bristol Rovers might be about to implode. Their managers interview after losing 1-0 at home to Exeter was remarkable. Kind of suggested they don't have proper scouting in place. Also fan rumours that their owners didn't fund away accommodation at Barnsley and they have to play their loan keeper or pay fees to Brentford. No idea what's true but something rotten there.

I agree , but I have cheese and tinned tomatoes oatcakes for my main meal at night , delicious

Yes - that's a L:ancashire problem, too! Our supermarkets only stock those by "Staffordshire Oatcakes" which are better than nothing...bit not as good as the real thing!
