Not sure if this is a good idea with it being so soon after he's left the club but I was wondering if the supporters club could hold An Evening with DC to mainly congratulate the man & also to raise funds for Rudgie's statue

When I've left employers or self employment assignments I've wanted minimum fuss and a clean break. Leave on good terms - not possible in one case for me - but always move on quickly.

These kind of things are written in conjunction with the PFA and his agent so they’re always going to complimentary. I have no doubt he means a lot it given his circumstances. But no one in their right mind is going to come out with a statement that would slate the club, owners, DOF or fans because he wants to get another job without any baggage from his previous position and any bad words from that.

Dazza is in my top 3 favourite vale managers with Rudge and Micky Adams. He was responsible for one of the most memorable days out at Wembley and the unreal play off second leg against Swindon. Good luck in future endeavours Darrell you will always mean a lot to Port Vale fans. (Most of us, anyway)

This is a respectful departure statement. It ensures he will be well remembered and for his successes. Since there is a contractual relationship between employee and employer being brought to an end, with most likely an agreed settlement, then of course that is relevant to the statement to some degree. When someone is leaving it is over. No point dwelling on internal unrests which are now also over. It's right to set the person up with the best chance to succeed in future.

What the statement achieves is to ensure DC will be remembered for his successes. These are considerable in avoiding relegation, gaining promotion and establishing at the higher level. The way performance has unravelled in the last 4 months has some elements of bad luck. This includes injuries to the whole attack. However, with continuing losses circumstances started to spiral into a crisis and a critical moment. This turned out adversely for him, but he knows and we all know football management is a perilous profession. I hope he will soon start his next 2-3 year stint at another club. If in L1, of course I hope we beat his new club twice next season!

i disagree with that because football is different to any other kind of job.
