What do we think about it these days?

 

Cigarettes. Are they going out of fashion?

 

Vaping seems to be in now. There's a lot of bongs for sale in dumps like Burslem too.

Bit vague when you just say 'Smoking, what do you think'

But I'll chime in.

I don't smoke, I know it's bad

I also don't Vape, because that's probably bad

I don't mind standing around smokers but then it does make you smell

I do not want to see smoking banned, as smoking is a massive revenue stream for the government.

Smokers pay for their own medical care in the tax they pay over the years.

Never smoked. Tried one as a 15 year old going to the school disco at The Place. My lungs nearly exploded. Had I enjoyed it then maybe I'd of been a 35 year smoker by now. 

Very hard habit to kick from some friends experiences. I've never been a raving anti smoker but it is incredible now to think it was acceptable on planes, in the cinema etc etc. 

Just not a nice habit. The costs, the smell , the health issues but each to their own and ultimately it's an addiction.

Been around for thousands of years has smoking.

It seems to be on its way out to me.

It does make you wonder if it should all be banned in this day and age - cigarettes, alcohol, sugar etc.

Stopped smoking over 3 years now with patches I’ve never vaped

Smoking tobacco has been in decline since the smoking ban in pubs, however smoking other substances has increased dramatically in that time.

19% of adults smoke compared to 22% 15 years ago. IMO vaping is a bit of a fad but there will be something one day that will replace cigarettes. A lot more people smoke cigarettes than vape and globally there are more people smoking than there was 20 years ago, U.K. tobacco companies are a very good option to buy shares on the stock market so that says the city has confidence in them, despite a number of stock holding companies refusing to buy tobacco shares because of the stigma raised around them.

Don’t smoke, never had but worked for a tobacco company for 8 years up until 4 years ago.
