i think maybe mo banked on the council wanting to keep some kind of imput regarding the ownership of the ground etc, it is obvious to me they want to rid themselves of any responsibiity regarding this and wanted the most money possible up front in return for some loss which allows them to remove themselves from the responsabilities regarding the club, which has been shown in negotiations with mr ryder regarding their reluctance to accept his payment in installments

No Mo's bid was 200k + 550k = 750k

The sentinel article is hard to understand

So the bids were....

Mo.....200k council and 550k creditors =750k.

Keith...250 council and 600k creditors=850k.

Keith's bid becomes 1.4 millon with a 550k loan and gets the freehold for 800k.

Mo's bid leaving the freehold with the council valued at 1 million is worth 1.75 million.

Presumably the peppercorn rent would have meant the million could be spent on the pitch and the freehold could be sorted at a later date.

It's all swings and roundabouts.

The good news is if both can work together then Vale would be a very rich club indeed.

I was pro Mo, but would not have wanted the ground to be owned by the council or anyone else. Once the club has relinquished its ownership of the ground then you are on a potential road to disaster as has happened to many other clubs.

Newcastle City Council owns St James Park and the club has a 99 year lease on it. Doesn't seem to have done them any harm.

Not until:

Mike Ashley sells the club to Bill Bratt

Bratt sacks Pardew on grounds of cost and appoints Sinnott

Newcastle are relegated three times in four seasons and gates drop to 4500

Billy doesn't have the funding to pay the lease

Club goes bust, has no home and reform as a 'phoenix' club in the Northern Premier League

Seriously, Newcastle are in a far better position than Vale and always will be. If Newcastle were in our position I think they'd sooner have the ground as an asset.

Regardless of the ins and outs of Mo's bid, and whether or not the Administrators thought he his deal was the best for PVFC, I highly doubt Chaudry would have been allowed to gain control due to his poor relations with the City Council, who inevitably called the shots at the end of the day.

As recently as last October S-O-T City Council paid Chadry £22,000 legal costs etc over an 'alleged contract'. He wasn't exactly on their No.1 Christmas wish list.

It's over and done with now, and I'm backing Mr Ryder and his vision for the Vale. If Mo wants to get involved and use ideas, wealth and business expertise towards getting Vale beack to where they belong, both on and off the pich, then I'm all for that!

Newcastle have had serious financial problems in the past - notably when Shepherd got them into about £100 million of debt before Ashley took over. Their problems though, as at Vale, were caused by incompetent management rather than the fact that they only leased the ground.

Lets Hope They Can Work Together To Move Us Forward, As He Says Mo Is A Vale Fan Now ?

As long as Keith is the only voice in vale, there were to many board members mouthing off and causing trouble last time so we dont want any conflicts of interest and private agenda's.

If anyone else wants to assist they should lend there finantial support but leave the running of the club to Keith... He's earnt that right by offing the most for the vale.
