How safe are we from the drop....

I've read some people worrying about relegation but I do wonder if 43 points is enough to be honest...

Plymouth are 11 points behind us with 10 to go and a vastly poor GD to us...

Dagenham are 12 points behind with 10 to go....

Does anyone see Argyle Winning 4 of 10 or 3 Wins and 3 draws? or Dagenham winning 4 and drawing 1 of the last 10 games?

This would rely us on going on a 12 game losing streak too!

Usually 43 is not enough but I think we will be ok, one more win would cement it!

Complacency complacency complacency.

So many teams that thought they were too good to go down have been relegated over the years that this is one area where I pray that Micky Adams is more clued-up than some of our fans.

Firstly, 43 points is nowhere near enough to feel safe. I would want 50 at least, and preferably 52.

Secondly, it is no use saying Dagenham and Hereford are terrible and someone else adding they are nto as bad as Barnet when the latter have just beaten us !

If we were to lose to Dagenham at home and maybe draw with Hereford or vice versa things would start to look very nasty.

Yes, the odds are heavily in our favour, but the biggest danger is smugness and the thought that enough has been done already - it hasn't yet ! Get a draw at Crawley and beat Hereford in meidweek and I will gladly admit I was being paranoid - but 2 points or less from the next 3 games will flash real danger signs.

5 more wins should see us very safe and possibly able to absorb a 10 point deduction.

That would probably mean winning all 5 home games, unlikely as we always mess up a game or two against battling clubs near the foot of the table.

However, I dont think we need 15 points more - ten would do the job nicely, three wins and a draw but I have a feeling we will only miss disaster by 3 or 4 points.

Go on Vale, prove me wrong by winning at Crawley.
