Are you disappointed in micky Adams

Have a horrible feeling that by the end of next week we are going to see/feel at first hand how cr*p administration can be. I suspect Micky has got news in advance of the rest of us. Get ready for some departures, likely to include the manager !!

It never is easym it wasnt last time, we lost players then too. The only difference was the manager then had Vale at heart as he'd played for us and respected the fans, therefore he took a cut in pay.

This was never going to be bells and roses. I reckon weve got Just enough money to see us through to the end of the season. The higher gates we get the better chance we have, ubfortunately that might take a hit id Mickey leaves which i think he will AGAIN.

It's disappointing to hear his comments but we don't know the conversation between Adams and Young.

Obviously something has been said that has upset Adams and was probably unexpected. Not sure what the legal advice can be other than to be about his contract. Maybe how much he is entitled to be paid should it be terminated.

To me the whole interview just re-iterates the need to find a suitable buyer ASAP.

His interview stinks of him looking after himself. He goes to great lengths to mention not once but TWICE that he hopes that the discussion he had with Bob Young remains 'in house'.

This to me says that Micky has been asked to take a cut and Micky has in no uncertain terms told him where to get off. Micky doesn't want Young coming out in the media saying that Micky refused a paycut and decided to leave as this would reflect badly on him especially as he used us the first time to get his 'dream' job and even worse after the other week where he said he's 'not going anywhere!'

If he leaves again he is a **** of the highest order imo.

He refused to comment when questioned about his reaction to the crowd chanting his name. Why was that I wonder? Could it be he's anticipating a backlash from us when further news emerges regarding his talk with Bob Young. I think it can only be concerning his salary.

reality check time. He was interviewed after a disappointing result following what has been a stressful week. I dont know Micky's personal circumstances, sometimes you need to look after number 1, im sure this is micky's attitude. I've got a mrs and 3 kids, i cant afford to not get paid, they are my priority.

I'm not sticking up for Micky here, i'm just trying to have an open mind to whats going on.

maybe his comments are being scrutinised too much

Yes, you are.

Adams is loaded. If he had just an inch of decency within himself he would take a pay-cut (if that is indeed what has been asked of him) to help this football club. When he walked out to go to his beloved Sheff United many here sent him away with nothing but the best wishes, and most took him back when it went **** up for him with open arms. He owes Port Vale a little bit.

To "look after number 1" in this situation would show him up as a selfish ***** in my opinion.

Micky's interview today was shocking. Listening to it reminded of that depressing boxing day evening listening to him talk after the Gillingham game. Cagey, uninspiring, distant. He's been like this with all his other clubs. The second it starts getting moody or a better offer comes in, he's off. Very selfish

Come on man, everyone is speculating at the moment. We dont know what has been said. All i'm saying is that we dont know people's circumstances.

Adams may well be minted, I dont know.

I would like to think that if he could he WOULD do what he can to help the Vale out by maybe taking a drop in wages if necessary

True, and if his hugely pessimistic and downbeat interview is because he's so dissapointed for the players then I, like many, will hold my hands up. But he's never seemed to be a person who put's anything else football related above his own interests.

That said, the supporters have tried to make the best of a very sorry situation and really tried to put differences aside and rally together, so to hear him talk so negatively was extremely dissapointing.

well said manuel, everybody is speculating about what may or may not have been said to MA but only him and the staff know.So lets wait and see what the coming weeks bring.Yeah it is likely to be crap but we're in administration so it always is.On the plus side those conmen who were running our club have gone for good so lets get behind MA and the team instead of giving them grief before any of us actually know whats happening.

I know what you mean, I was hugely disappointed when he walked before, but i begrudgingly understood it to a degree. This is different now. We gave him a huge contract straight after a huge job failure, and i hope he will show some consideration for what Vale did for him when no other club would. We will see.

A kick in the nuts for the fans once again

Let's get one thing straight here, he walked when his 'boyhood club' came in for him. He was sacked and got a huge pay-out. Then Pratt offered him his old job back on 3 times the salary he was on before, he accepted. We go into admin, the administrator, I would imagine has asked him to take a pay-cut, which is understandable with the mess the previous lot left us with. The top and bottom of this is, that if this is the case, and he is taking legal advice because of the request, then if he really cares for the 'family club' he says we are then he will, no argument. If he is objecting, then he is only in it for himself and if that is the case then bye bye Adams, end off !!!!!

Having listened to the interview carefully, and twice, I was left feeling that he is on his way.

That would be disappointing, and I feel he would be letting down the fans in particular. However, at some stage this club has got to learn to live within its means, and it clearly isn't doing that at the moment. By the sound of it, the manager and playing staff are receiving more than most L2 people, and that can't carry on.

We ought to be capable of surviving well at this level given the club's support, other clubs manage to stay afloat on half the Vale's gates.

So maybe its time to get real and start to live within our means - if MA decides he doesn't want to be part of that then we'd best let him get on his way. The club has to survive first and foremost, and by the sound of it MA and a few others may well be leaving. That's the start of the re-building process if it happens, and would create some room for manoeuvre for any new manager appointed.

Of course, we may all get a surprise in the next hectic instalment of this drama, though I somehow doubt it.

Up the Vale!!
