Reading all these posts and keeping up to date with Twitter makes me wish I was able to make it down tonight, it sounds like it will be a fantastic atmosphere and one where everyone will unite - great for the council leader to come down (if that's true) as he'll see what a great family club his council have helped to save.

 

Luckily with modern technology I'll be able to keep in touch on channel 979, as it should be one of the lead stories on Midlands Today.

The council are making an announcement at 5pm to confirm that they are helping fund Port Vale's administration, along with Bill to allow us to welcome Peter back at the club as soon as possible.

Why can't the council offer these funds on condition that the board stand down, that the SC board nominees are put in place and that the planned financial examination takes place BEFORE it is decided for sure we need to go into administration? Or do the council or the SC know more than they are saying about the parlous state of the finances?
