Mo Chaudry will have us in the Champions League within 10 years

Not many moons ago it was the last day of the season.

Exeter City played at home against Southend needing a win to retain their place in the football league.

They were also dependent on Swansea losing their last game of the season.

Exeter won, but unfortunately for them Swansea did not lose and down they went.

And Swansea, who so very nearly lost their league status that day, whatever happened to them? Where are they now?

And Exeter City who were consigned that day to the outer limits, whatever happened to them?

Wigan?

Fulham?

Blackpool?

What are dreams for, but to keep us afloat on life's perilous ocean waves.

Agree 100% but the posters on this forum are all so depressed and glum that they think we're doomed to play League 2/non-league football for eternity.

..............and up in Scotland little Ross County, in the Highland league but a few seasons back, now poised to enter the Scottish premiership, and not bankrolled by some wealthy individual a la Gretna, but on the back of soild crowds and steady progress through the leagues playing attractive football with players developed through their youth system.

It can be done

I think everyone would agree that Port Vale has the potential to enjoy the same sort of success as Fulham.

People may laugh now, but I'd encourage everyone to have a look at the league tables 10 years ago and look at where some of those Premiership clubs were.

People forget that only 7 years ago Man City recorded a 4,000 home gate in a Cup game (against Walsall I believe).

ManC also hold the record for the largest FA cup gate outside Wembley, 84000 at Maine road, a famous PV manager played against them that day for his home club. In modern times no club without an average of 40K plus has a chance of the Champions League unless they charge London prices. A spell in the Championship is a dream today, but what will the future bring.

Mo's optimism is there for everyone to see- he may not have the hundreds of millions that would catapult us to the summit of the Premiership like Man City but he certainly has the business acumen and hunger to take us as far as possible and we certainly have the fan base to match what Stoke have achieved and perhaps go one step further.

I've been keeping a keen eye on his Facebook page that is littered with hope and a future for this club. Mo knows where we all want to be-competing at the highest level with Stoke. Champions League is not impossible in my opinion. Just imagine- 26,000 roaring Vale fans backing Mickey and the lads against the likes of Barcelona. I'm not being unrealistic as it would obviously require slow, organic growth to achieve this. Anyone agree?

You are rapidly joining Lady Vale as a joke figure one here

IF we go into admin,i will just be happy if Mo comes out and tells us all he is interested and tells us of his business plan which will also include MS(i think this will sway a few people if he can get a millionaire Vale fan interested again).

If he can one day get us back into the Championship then great but the good thing for me is that if we do get to that level again then i am sure he will know plenty of very wealthy people who could join the ride and thhen who knows what could happen.

However, although i am a big supporter of Mo and MS(if he shows involvement) i would also like to see what else gets put on the table(as long as it's none of the current or past lot of ****ers).

Surely this is a wind-up poster?

Yes it is.

I think as a club we need to walk before we can run. Who knows the damage that's been done. Long term the Championship would be the dream for me. I think run right we could be sustainable at that level but anything higher is a bridge too far for me.
