Match Thread Port Vale v Blackburn Rovers

Fosse69

Recommended Posts

With a 12.30 KO to avoid England`s Bronze Medal shot. Whether the first sight of Vale18/19 will be less attractive who knows. One thing is for sure the pitch will be greener than most lawns. Recognising players is an annual exercise nowadays, not like things used to be, maybe stability will return next season.

No Miller, Legge or Monty.

There are lots of games so I’m sure it’s just rotation. I’m am wondering though whether Miller has been deemed not fit enough yet or may be carrying a slight knock Aspo doesn’t want to risk.

No Vassell or Kay either

I don’t believe there’s names missing from the team sheet today just for squad rotation. Certainly Vassell is carrying a knock.

By the looks of it we’ve narrowed the width of the pitch too.

Squad haven’t been released yet have they? Players have got names and numbers today on the new strip so these must be the new squad numbers.

Maybe the numbers are just for today? Otherwise, it's a bit of a coincidence that their 1-17

These are a good side playing a different formation to us and that’s allowing them to have men over on the wings and in between our back 4 and midfield. But we’ve defended quite well so far, but we’re struggling to keep the ball when we get it. Maybe it’s the amount of training we’ve done recently but I’d say some of the players look a little leggy too.

Playing ok so far. Little quality from either side though. You can tell they're in a higher division. Positives so far are hannant, who's been very good, mckewan (has a long throw) and rawlinson. Worrall and pope both poor.

Happy with that then. As we all know Worrall and pope are good players.
