It's amazing how some players look the business and disappear almost without trace, and the ones who look mediocre go on to have years in the game.

I definitely thought this lad had something. I guess it's really tough to get a gig anywhere as a footballer and I think a lot of luck is involved.

Maybe I'm reading too much into this but 'finally can join us' perhaps had something to do with his contract at the Vale?

Pure speculation but perhaps we continued to pay players their standard wage until their contract ran out or they found a new club. Amaros couldn't sign for anyone because his wage at Vale was higher than the one they offered him so he chose to sit his contract out abroad.

If this was true it would mean we did't pay up everyones contract at the end of last season and so there wasn't a huge hole taken from the playing budget for the relegation season.

Again, pure speculation.

Yes good luck to him.

He wanted to stay at Vale but Baldrick Brown needed scapegoats for his failure as a Manager.

Thought he was quite decent especially in the televised game and a flair player who had good vision and ball distribution but didn’t meet Browns idea of getting stuck in and defend a draw.

We are probably still paying Brown until his contract ends.

Unfortunately no other club rates him so he still hasn’t got a job in football.

So he's semi pro in the French 4th tier

Kiko is in the Portuguese second tier

Reggie is playing in Lithuania

What the hell were we playing at that summer? It absolutely beggars belief! Norman, what a wand!

I honestly think some of them couldn't believe their luck when that fool dished out the contracts he did.

Chris Mbamba and the rest must be laughing still.

Yes, how did we manage to end up with Baldrick Brown? One of the worst managers in our history since 1896 when records began with a win ration of 17.6%. Yes, 17.6%. No wonder he's still unemployed, apart from the occasional appearance on Sky spouting his usual codswallop. It's simple though - the old handset sends him into oblivion quicker than you can say We Won when he was manager. Anyroad, let's look ahead - the future's bright

We ended up with Brown because Gorm stated that one day he would be manager of Port Vale.Totally taken in by the fact that he played in the Premier League.
