Can I be the first to be outraged at this and start a pointless hashtag campaign or something against the march, or has that been baggsied?

Gotta be quick off the mark these days.

Start a new thread in the off-topic area if you want to discuss/comment on the reasons or otherwise of the march, but this thread is purely for the effect of the march upon fans travelling to and from the Vale game, especially useful to those from outside the area.

Please keep to the traffic aspects of the topic

Well the problem with traffic through Cobridge isn't the lights themselves but its the amount of At-Grade junctions and the lack of sensible provision for pedestrians to cross the road that creates an elastic stop-start nature to traffic along there.

The bus lane is a laughable sticking plaster over a long term congestion problem. A racist march will only exacerbate this.

My route in and out from the Vale to the A500, but not this Saturday.

I appreciate this, but it will simply add congestion to alternative routes in and out of Burslem. Porthill Roundabout and Newcastle Street get very busy on a Saturday afternoon already without something like this creating further problems.

I worry that, from a traffic perspective, the EDL simply haven't thought this through.

You could still use the A500 but come off at the junction that takes you up to Sandyford roundabout, you could then come in via Chell or Tunstall?
Thanks, think usual way in should be alright as well before, it is going back after the game that is the problem, just takes longer on a different route.
