Celtic qualify for the Play Off Round of the Champions League when a James Forrest 2nd half winner seals a 1-0 win for the Parkhead side. They now join Liverpool in the final round before the Group stage, although under competition rules the two cannot be drawn together.

2nd half substitute Dominic Calvert-Lewin scores to give Everton a 1-0 win in Slovakia to progress 2-0 on agregate against home side Ruzomberok. They now face a Play Off tie before hopefully reaching the Group Stages, when England's only other representative Arsenal enter the competition.

Liverpool travel to Germany tonight in the 1st leg of their Champions League Play Off match. Seemingly Barcelona bound Coutinho does not travel due to a "back injury"

 

Oddly enough Klopp's injury hasn't stopped him from travelling....he's got a bad side

Brilliant win and performance by Liverpool this evening against a good side and one that have been unbeaten at home for 16 months until tonight! Dug deep in the first half when they had to and then controlled the second half completely until the last 5 minutes once Hoffenheim scored. In a way I'm glad that they scored, despite the lack of a clean-sheet ,as at 2-0 Liverpool might have been complacent and thought that the job was already done back at Anfield.

 

Alexander-Arnold was unbelievable for an 18 year old, and not just because of his free-kick. He'll be the best right-back in the country within a few years time. Barcelona are going to pay out of there arse for Coutinho but it's Mane they should be going for as he's Liverpool's best player.

The draw for the Champions League Play Off Round see's Liverpool drawn away in the 1st leg against Germany's Hoffenheim. Celtic will fancy their chances against Kazakstan's Astana with the 1st leg at Parkhead.

RR, Astana are a tough side to break down, especially at home. It won't be easy for Celtic.
