Club for sale or not?

There was someone else.

 

The Club is run like a cross between a nursery school and a circus. It's a ******* shambles.

 

Based on the close season can you give me some examples of how we have been like a circus? In fact have we been any different to any other clubs in the EFL?

Don't bother. If you argue with an idiot they'll drag you down to their level and beat you through experience.

I wouldn't. They know as much about running a football club as Norm did 5 years ago, it's a recipe for disaster- but they're Vale fans so it's okay...

They would have engaged the wider community far more

They would have brought some leadership and direction to the club

They would have been far less pig headed about the things they accept they can't do themselves.

 

Which Smurf has now done, so they'd be on the same footing but with less cash? Brilliant, sell to them immediately

Colin has impressed me but despite his job title he's no CEO, he's a club secretary / oldschool small club general manager at best.

The Chief Exec is an experienced football administrator at this level and there is a coherent coaching set up. So, if it was possible to get promoted in a period of insolvency and administration then the current situation is more favourable. I can't believe I am presenting this as a positive. I note that there was a united team / club spirit at the time which may not replicate now with a new squad.

 

I am warming to the transfers in to date. But it could become an alarming situation in July if more outfield players aren't signed. Taking off keepers, long term injured, backup manager still registered and first year pros we are very short of proven professional outfield players. We probably still need 8-10 players. So my judgement must be reserved at this time.

Perhaps he has now, will have to wait & see what Garlick can do. Which is better though, having an owner with money to spend who loans it whilst making a loss, creating more debt/a higher price for the club when it is eventually sold, or an owner spending within their means & halting the deficit? Obviously no guarantee of that happening but it's something to consider.

 

Not really that focused on the issue right now to debate it much (just hoping we have a good preseason to be honest), but I still think they'd have made a better fist of it than Smurf has done. Rather pointless talking about it however as I don't think he'll ever sell to them anyway, but our commercial/communication sides of things are still horrendous & need sorting out quickly. Hopefully Garlick can make the changes needed.

I'm not too worried about it to be honest. I think Norman has realised he HAS to take a back seat and let Colin Garlick run things. This is what we have asked him to do for 2 years now and importantly stay off social media.

I think relegation hurt him and I believe the fact fans seem to unlike him so much will be hurting him too.

I feel sorry for him in some ways as I genuinely believe he cares about the club. His complete lack of football knowledge and stubbornness resulted in where we find ourselves but I don't think for a minute he will have expected it to go so badly wrong.

If things carry on the way they are and we have a god budget then I'm happy.

At the end of the day he is still signing the cheques and whether some of you like it or not we need him here until someone else can take us forward.
