Typical tactics for anyone looking to invest in a football club to win over disillusioned fickle fans

1 Promise to bolster transfer kitty

2 Promise to clear the debts

3 Promise to Upgrade/Move to new, or in this case stay where we are ground-wise

4 Drop some hints that a big names manager might be interested in coming to the club

I bet it took yourself and Mo a while to draw that predictable list up.:rolleyes: A pity how many of these promises get broken once the people finally get the keys to the castle.

Dear Banbell,

I am sorry you describe yourself, and others, as fickle and disillusioned fans.

Whoever ultimately comes in to take the club over, invest and move the club forward is always going to fail the bid process on some leval given the scrutiny of 5,000 plus fans -but at some stage a leap of faith will be required.

We have set out our strategy summary in detail. We have advised of our plans and investment intentions. If what you say is true then we set ourselves up for an almighty fall and risk throwing away significant money - and why would we be doing that if we did not believe in or have courage in our convictions.

If you have any questions arising from the bid or the summary strategy please feel free to PM me and I will try and address those concerns as I have to many posters to date.

Kind Regards

How can he line up anyone when he doesn't yet own the club. The way the board are treating his bid means he isn't going to be in charge this season anyway. Who is going to commit to him when he may never take control.

Lets get real, i want him in as much as anyone, but to speak of him lining up managers is way too premature. =========

I would be very disappointed if a short list had not already been made, adjustments as managers move can easily be done. MC will take over a football club, whether it is Port Vale or not, that is upto the shareholders not the board. There is a SAS saying " Proper Planning Prevents P*** Poor Performance ", something the board have never heeded.

If he turned round and said, right Alan Curbishley has agreed a deal in principle with me if i take control, i think the fans would smash the place up if they didnt accept.

It would add a lot of weight to his bid and lets face it some managers have been out of work for a while now so agreeing a deal in principle wouldnt make much difference to them.
