General Election 2017 pt 3 - Winners and losers

Aussie Rules

Recommended Posts

Did anyone Angela Rayner see on Andrew Marr this morning? She was questioned about the policy to cease charging tuition fees from this September and when challenged over the costs acknowledge (and I paraphrase) that it was an aspiration, it was what they wanted to do rather than a commitment to do so. I wonder how many of the oooh Jermey Corbyn crowd realised that when they voted Labour on the basis of it and his other tuition fee policies?

There was more

Marr clearly trying to redress the balance

The cat is out of the bag

Somebody's pressed the wrong button on the calculator again.

Like I said weeks ago, manifesto's are nothing more than wish lists and has someone says in the article, akin to economic sabotage by parties desperate for votes.

It's best to work on the principal of if it seems too good to be true it generally is?

Their manifesto was a shot to nothing.

Never in any realistic danger of winning the election so put out a dream world manifesto to try and increase their vote for the next election.

How are Uni fees worked out? Say £10k p.a. = £30K to the Uni from the Govt. as the paymaster or are they quoting an unpaid 30 year loan with compound interest of 6+%, say £60k? Scrapping the current system costs say £30k, or less if the Unis have to revert to their previous levels of income. Surely a compromise with a means tested system is more likely.
