I'm not knocking the chairman personally when I say I honestly don't think he "gets" the non-financial benefits of having a large crowd in at low prices.

I agree. I don't think he gets the financial benefits either though. Get more people in, stock up properly to increase other income streams in the short term.

If the promotion coincides with a way of creating a customer database, we can target fans of the future. Ticket offers, promote st deals etc.

There's zero effort from the club, and that comes from the top. Lazy.

I see that Notts County who were in serious trouble of dropping out the league recently made all their home matches free for kids, they have gone from averaging around 4000 to getting 7000+ in their next 2 matches. It will not happen under Smurthwaite but the remaining games we have left are so important, a decent crowd would help.

They had a new owner, a new manager, and reduced adult tickets to 20 quid instead of 22 and 24. Oh for all three of them!

I think the Friday night Shrewsbury game would be the better option to do such an offer. Mainly for the reasons of it being a night match which would generally attract a lower crowd that a Saturday. It's a localish Derby which should attract a little more interest.

We have to do an offer like Rochdale. It makes total sense. And like Iv said before, this is not about "money making" it's about league 1 survival which any shortfall in revenue from this game would be far outweighed should we stay up.

Smurf, please take note. We have the potential to get 10'000 fans with an offer of £1 admission. We have done it before in a league below.
