It has everything to do with the topic of the thread G4E. Scrutiny was originally focusing on the Club's accounts, and has deviated to the available funds of a potential buyer. At this point, comparisons are being drawn to gauge which owner / potential owner would be in the best position to make Port Vale FC. Considering Smurfs track record so far, decreased attendances, increased debt year on year, it would appear that a business that is growing and building a good reputation locally and further afield, offers much better prospects.

The details held at Companies House do not indicate the personal wealth of the owners , nor do they indicate, unless you know where to look, what other companies they may be involved in.

You can check their appointments easily enough. You're right though CH gives far from the full picture.

Mine was a genuine question, FST. It would make my life much easier as someone who deals almost exclusively with limited companies/directors in my professional life if someone could point out where to find how wealthy people/companies are just by looking at the info that is posted on Companies House, as I have never been able to find it!

And you said "if its the one I'm thinking of", how do I know who your thinking about? Without knowing then its difficult to say, so I said its easy if you know where to look. I know I can look up Normans limited companies on there and they show little value but he's a wealthy chap isn't he? So we've establshed it means little then, so it isn't important is it? If it's the one you think, would you say from your professional expertise that they were a decent company or not? Not that I will know who you are on about of course.
