It is a slightly irrelevant argument to the point of the thread, however, the penalty shoot out is one of 3 methods used to determine the winner of a match that has been drawn in a competition where the rules dictate there must be a winner. That is under the Laws of the Game.

 

Statistically, I think the result of the match is a draw but the result of the tie would be a defeat.

I noticed that fraggle,that's probably why the board were crowing that they were on course to make a small profit.Of course legal costs took over then but any income is welcome after the toxic toe rags have gone.

No, we lost to Tranmere. We drew after normal time but the game didn't stop at normal time, it went to penalties. So the records will show we lost the game.

 

i had 25notes on a draw...and it paid out.bookies never wrong so draw it is for me.

I had better change my statement then that we were the only team not to get beaten by Arsenal that year we got beat on penalties. We clearly did lose as we didnt get to the next round. Oh well live and learn and all that........
