Poor attendance today

That was the year of Target 5,000. The two years are not comparable. I also wouldn't trust an average of three games compared to an average of over 46 games!

Looking at 2009-10, which can be compared to this year, especially in the way the fixtures have fallen, the crowds are not much different at all.

oh dear

we lost 400k that season

4614 with 105 visitors, that's just 4509 Vale fans.

That's abysmal and I bet now we'll see the board panicking a lot more. Hence the ST offer I guess.

Totally disagree. It's 300 better than for the corresponding fixture last season !!!:razz::yes:

I can't imagine we'd have got too many more with or without SEO.

I also thought the crowd got behind the team really well today.

Tisdeano - 2007 was the year the club received the council loan. No work has as yet been done on the Lorne Street. Since then, a lot of that cash has been spent on the Lorne Street.

It may well have been a £400k loss that season, I haven't checked. I wasn't claiming Target 5,000 to be a success commercially, just that it skews the attendance figures.

Simon - Yes, those figures were Vale fans only.

It would bother me if I could see any evidence of it whatsoever.

There are none so blind as those who won't see.....sorry, but you really are being obtuse if you seriously think that the club can cope financially with significantly reduced gates, and when however many (I'm not going to get into an argument about numbers) previously hard core fans are opting not to go. I include myself in that - I've had season tickets for the last few years, and so has my lad, and I was going to almost all the home games before then......not been yet this season.

If there are more there for the Southend game, I'd be willing to bet it's because of something that happens at BGWMC on Sunday more than what happened on the pitch today. Doubtless you'll still be singing the same tune.....

excellent, we are getting some where.

what was the loan for ? again im happy to help you

1) Lorne street stand

2) childrens centre

3) VpEC

4) the balance left was working capital as an emergency if we ever needed it

well we did need item 4) to cover the losses since 2007, now again who is gong to provide the cash if we loose ANY money over the next few months ?
