Poor attendance today

I was lucky to be invited into a box today. The box holders this season are being treated disgracefully. All kettles have been removed, so if you want a tea/coffee at half time you now have to pay £1.50 whereas last season tea/coffee was free and you could have a biscuit. For the Huddersfield game it was £300 for a box, £37.50 each, scandolous !!! For a meal in the restuarant last season was £16 this season it is £25, shocking. After the game we went into the lounge to watch Sean Rigg receive his man of the match award, only to find it is now done in the sponsors lounge away from the box holders.

Can any board supporters defend theses changes ?

It's not down to the board, they sold the catering rights for a quick couple of grand.

Perhaps they didnt, the Crawley attendance was probably made up more of 'casual' fans because it was the first game of the season.

I think there is a lot of life long loyal Vale fans who are not attending for obvious reasons.

Exactly.

These crowds we are getting are no different than the 2009-10 season. Are we to assume the fans that are supporting SEO were doing so then? Or are we to assume that the casual fans that attended last year when the team were doing well are not bothering because of the bad feeling at the club, the poor end to last season and the economics of it all - which is how all football crowds are determined.

SEO isn't playing a part at all.

No idea. They attended the game against Crawley!

I guess a season opener will always get a good turnout, but for me it's the falling home support over time that will negatively impact financially in the months ahead.

For season 2008/09 our average home support was approximately 5,400. However, we have seen a declining trend to around 4,200 currently.

That was the year of Target 5,000. The two years are not comparable. I also wouldn't trust an average of three games compared to an average of over 46 games!

Looking at 2009-10, which can be compared to this year, especially in the way the fixtures have fallen, the crowds are not much different at all.

You know the two years are not comparable.

Utch what are you on about

Look at the cash in 2007, where has the cash gone ? let me help you, its covered the losses, add the Harlequin loan, that covered the losses

if we loose ANY money this year who is gong to provide the cash

the evidence is there for all to see

My inference / conclusion has been extrapolated using the official website's data for each home game beginning season 2008 to yesterday
