Your first 11

Hi All,

 

We have pretty much got our squad sorted for the first game of the season, I cant see many more coming in but we might see Foley and Grant leave.

After minimal exposure of the new players it would be interesting to see peoples chosen first teams now, and then just before we play the bradford game to see how they differ?

For what its worth I think we could do with a right sided winger on loan or perm and I think Peiria could be accommodated in midfield.

 

Interested to hear others thoughts because its been really tricky to put this together and I'm sure we would all have different teams...

It's only ridiculous in your mind. If people want to name there starting 11 and change it every week from now leading up to the beginning of the season then so be it, what's it hurting anything?

Thanks for your positive response, it seems others are happy to share thoughts on squad so far.

I think it is an interesting experiment to see how fan's perceptions change after competitive friendlies and Bruno starts to piece together his starting lineup. Interesting that some posters haven't listed Grant or Foley in their teams, maybe due to rumours or a belief in our new midfield signings

From what I've seen (Kidsgrove), I'd like to see more of Tavares, Pereira and De Frietas. I'd suggest, given we also have Grant, Foley and Brown that we are well stocked in midfield. Everywhere else concerns me at this early stage. Going on Saturday and to the Birmingham game, so I'm hoping we will continue to improve.

Hooper doesnt convince me as a goalscorer whereas Cecilia has shown some nice passages of play (his roulette vs Newcastle Town was particularly nice for a big lad). Perriera can plainly play the game, and we have been crying out for a player likeTavares who can spray a 40 yard pass about with a degree of accuracy. Mbamba will have pace to burn when he is fit. Browny still has plenty to offer if he can stay fit and it pains me to leave him out of the squad altogether.

I dont think we are going to struggle in terms of quality its all about whether Bruno can get his tactics right, get this bunch of strangers and different nationalities to play like a team and equally importantly manage to work under our plainly unhinged chairman.
