Yes it was, i qued for 10 minutes for a pie and there was only 4 people in front of me.

mind you, the crowd of 754 is double what they usually get.

No it isn't , they were new caterers doing their first game , little Stafford have coped with more in the ground than you averaged last season don't worry about that .

MA and Grew didn't go anywhere near the pitch or players from 2.30pm onwards if they were there.

Not sure why you think it is important whether MA was at a certain vantage point or not, but Gerard's Stafford pics on the club website show him giving a half-time team talk, and if he did that before 2-30 then he's invented a Vale version of the Tardis.

(Photo 15 below, also photo 8 looks suspiciously like Mr Adams in a dugout ? Of course, if someone is impersonating him and you have the details, I'm sure we would love to know all about it, otherwise a quick snivelling apology will suffice.) :)

Yeah, hands up I missed him, I think the suit threw me.

At least I was there.

Didnt you know they are the 2nd best pie eaters in the Potteries, when the caterers have settled in invite the stripeys for a real test. Do you supply brown sauce?

And lots of credit for going, and for being decent enough to admit you missed him without coming back with personal insults.

I will get to as many matches as I can, but living over 60 miles north of Vale makes Stafford a tricky one. Enjoy another Vale win and keep your eyes peeled for 'Mafia Micky' in his suit at Newc tomorrow.:)

Spoke to someone at the club today and they're really ****** off with the whole thing, the timing, the itinerary, the amount of flying they're going to be doing, the amount of games in the short space of time and the fact that the players will have to attend the open day only a couple of days after returning.

Another coup for Bratt and Co.

They always wanted a flying start to the season, flying East to Burslem also gives the best jet lag. Ah well, only nine more years.======

My comment was that we'd actually been to a ground that has worse catering than the Vale. Queued for 15 minutes for a microwaved Wrights pie ***. As it's their 1st day I'm sure that it'll improve.

A friend of mine who knows a couple of players told me they were very enthusiastic and looking forward to the trip. Maybe different people who are going see it differently but a semi-working holiday in the US and Canada and a chance to see new places doesn't sound too terrible to me.

And surely a maximum of 3 hours being civil at the Open Day after nearly 2 days rest on returning isn't going to be beyond any of the Vale players or other club employees or representatives ?

Yes very possibly, the players will probably see it as a bit of a jolly and as you say a chance to see somewhere else, the guy I spoke to was on the management/coaching side, they seem to see it as an inconvenience and not ideal preparation.

I think in fairness its about time the players and management just got on with what is in front of them and delivered for the fans after the debacle they all caused from January last season.

They would do well to stop the chatter and ensure 100% focus on the football leaving any talking to Micky.
